i have been trying desperately to find the actual name of my gr.gr.grandmother.i know her name was mary m.? she married george f. awbrey.they lived according to 1880 census in harrison co,indiana.a cousin said that she believes mary m's last name was swatch.this is based on what little info. she could read from our grandmothers writing.i remember well my grandmothers handwriting from the letters she would send to my mother.this is the reason i feel the name isn't swatch,but a name that is similar.i cannot find anywhere the name swatch.it isn't listed anywhere in census that would be even remotely connected to the awbrey family.george and mary m awbrey lived in fordsville and big clifty and harrison co. ky.the closest i came is mary m. swats who was born the same year as my mary m. and also the places and times as well as siblings to match,so can anyone tell me if mary m. awbrey is 'swatch or swats'?any info.would be appreciated,because i have been looking for several years. sandie preston.
