James and Mary Evans, both born in Ireland, were the parents of Ellen/Ella Maurice Ryan b. 1858/62 in Bardstown, Ky. Family lore is Ellen was an only child. I found a James/Mary on Ky 1870 census with Ellen age 3 but 1880 census list James widower with additional child a son Richard 6 and mother-in-law Mary Downey. Ellen's death certificate list her mother as Mary nee: Evans.
Ellen Ryan married John Ryan in Ky. abt. 1883. Ellen and John had a son James born in Bardstown,Ky 1884. Ellen and John Ryan's other children were born in Rhode Island and West Virginia.
I would like to find some record of these marriages.
