Thanks Chas, for looking into this. I found Nelson County, KY as William's birthplace on paperwork for one of the Donation Land Claims in Oregon. So I am leaning toward that location as his birthplace. I know nothing is 100% certain but I have not found anything else that suggests Louisville, while I have found a letter that indicates William was known to the Marks family, who had lived in Nelson Co. The person I suspect is William's mother was married first to Isaac Marks, who died about 4 years before Nancy "Ann" (Bull) Marks married Abraham Weekley in Nelson Co.
