John Bennett I, his wife Lucy, and family, came to KY and helped Isaac Cox build Cox's Fort, in Nelson CO, in 1780. John was born c1740 and died in 1820. Lucy died after 1828. They were married c1763, in VA. They had 12 children: Nancy, Daniel, Mary, Phillip, Hannah, John II, Elizabeth, Nelly, Sarah, Basil, Lucy, and Isaac. John I stayed in Nelson CO and raised his children there, John II, c1830, took his family, along with a Redman and his family, and moved to Illinois. I am looking for info on where John I and Lucy came from? Where in VA were they from? It is believed they came down the Ohio River, along with the Cox party. And they had started from the area of SW PA and VA, where most of the settlers started from. But where in VA were they before that time? Any small bit of information will be appreciated.
