Hi Charles, was reading the mail you sent to Dorothy and was wondering if you may have come across Furtney Brown b 1800, John Jackson Brown b 1804 or Granville C. Brown b 1810. The three are listed as born in KY on the Census. These men were in the area of Nelson Co. that was taken into Spencer Co., KY. Furtney's marriage to Susan Hardesty was listed as number one in Spencer Co. I Know that Furtney was in the Nelson Co. tax list in 1821 and also 1823, couldn't find him in the 1822 tax list of Nelson Co. Granville C bought land from the Federal Gov in Putnam Co., IN and was listed as living there (1827, would have been only 17, I feel he must have had an inheitance for he bought about 100 ackers of land at 1.25 per). He later married Laura Maddox in Spencer Co. KY. Furtney died in Louisville, KY in 1870, John Jackson and Granville C died in Indiana. Charles, thanks for any light you might be able to shed on these men. George Brown
