Jan, I went to Bardstown in April, but didn't get much research done. I'm hoping to get back in June & want to visit St. Gregorys as my feeling is our branch of the Wilmouth family lived there for many years. Do you know if Samuels and Deatsville(Spelling??) are the same place?? Are they in the Cox Creek area? Have you found any early information about George and Sarah?? Do you know where and when they Married and died?? Looking around the www, I found a Warren Wilmouth paid Henry Crist of Bullitt Co. in 1812, $200 for 92 1/2 acres on area of Coxs' Creek, possibly Cain Run?, Nelson County. My thought is George W. may have been George Warren Wilmouth, though someone sent me info that stated he was George Washington Wilmouth. Do you know what Georges middle name was?? When was St. Gregorys established?? I noticed on one of your queries you asked about the Cartrights, could they have been Curtrights? My Ancestor Samuel Nelson Wilmouth, son of George had a daughter Martha, she was born Nov. 25, 1841, in Edgar Co., Il.. She Married George Shelly and about 1880, after several years of Marriage and children they ended up in Jasper Co., IL. in St. Marie, a Community where many families attended St. Marys Catholic Church. There were Curtrights in this small community, who Married into the Shelly family. I thought the name may also have been spelled Cartright. My Email is IvyLee@webtv.net, please write. There is something going on in mid June that involves visting the old churches in Nelson Co. and Washington Co. and possibly others. Do you plan to attend this event??
