Brenda,

According to "Nelson County: A Portrait of the Civil War" by Bardstown historian Dixie Hibbs, there was a Camp Wickliffe in LaRue County. It must have been just across the river from New Haven, since Dixie mentions an Indiana unit being ordered to New Haven and going to Camp Wickliffe. This camp was occasionally called Camp Lytle. There was also a Camp D.C. Wickliffe, named for Kentucky's secretary of state, about 5 miles from Bardstown. That would have put it not quite halfway between Bardstown and New Haven. Hope this helps.
