Need a Little Help in Nelson County

I also posted this in LaRue County.

Looking for a little history. All I have now is folk tales.

a long time back Daniel Boone was supposed to have been thru here and he left desendents. That would have been the Gaddes or Gaddis. This part really isn't inportant what I am looking for is the history of "The Gaddes Bridge" (Gaddis?)

If you were to leave Howardstown KY. in Nelson County and go west on state road 84 about 1/2 mile just inside the LaRue County Line you turn left on Howard Ennis Road. The locals call this River Road. You would go 2 1/2 mile and there would be the Gaddes Bridge. This bridge spanned a small river (well if it rained) and the other side was Nelson County.

It did rain about a year ago and took the old bridge out. I think I must have the last pictures of it.

There has to be some history behind this. There is an old town site called Ginseng nearby that is also gone, would love to know about that place also. I hear it used to be hub for the area.
