VA, who settled in Muhlenberg by 1810. William and his wife Frances Crenshaw had a large family, including one son named Claiborne (b. 1775? - d. 1832). It appears that Claiborne had a son named Samuel, who was listed as being of McCracken Co. KY in some records involving the estate of Claiborne Rice, deceased. My guess is that your Lewis Claiborne might be a son of Samuel. I am descended from William Rice and Frances Crenshaw via their son James Rice who remained in Muhlenberg Co.
