In the book, Heistand Family of Page County, Virginia, it states that "Daniel Hestand joined the Mill Creek Baptist Church at Tompkinsville, Kentucky on February 8, 1800; he was a member of McFarland's Creek Church from 1827 to 1841. He represented it in the Baptist Association in 1827-34, 1836, and 1840; in 1829 he was sent to help the Sulphur Church; in 1830 he prepared a rule of church decorum; in 1833 he was appointed to invite a new minister; in 1839 he was sent to request help from the Mill Creek and Cumberland Churches. In 1841, he and his second wife Polly, whom he had probably married shortly before, were dismissed from the church at their own request. He died December 31, 1856 in Monroe County Kentucky."

I would like to know what the minutes show for Daniel Hestand. Also, are the McFarland Creek Church, Sulphur Church, and Cumberland Church still in existence? If so, can you give me some help on contacting them? I would like to know why they requested to be dismissed. Any ideas?

Also, are the book of minutes available for purchase? If so, what price?

Daniel Hestand is my ggggggrandfather.

Thanks for your help.

Margaret
