Doris-
I would love to respond to you by email. However, I am having a problem with my server at the office. I can receive mail. I just can't send any! I did want to get back to you immediately. So, I will use this forum for now. Hopefully, my problem will be resolved soon. In the meantime,....
Are you related to either Michael Stoner or Rosanna Stucker? In my FTM, I have a Michael Stoner marrying (in Kentucky) Rosanna Stucker (dob: abt 1763, probably in North Carolina), a daughter of George Stucker and Margaret Mitchell. That's it! I have no further information on them. I would appreciate anything that you can tell me.
Questions: Was Michael Stoner in North Carolina with Boone prior to the immigration to Kentucky? Do you have any information on the trek from North Carolina to Kentucky? When did they leave Carolina? When did they arrive in Kentucky? Was their first settlement Boone's Station or Bryan's Station? Do you have any information about the Casteel/Castile/Castle/Cassell family? I have a number of marriages between Stuckers and that family (if it is one and the same family!)
I need to make, at least, one correction to my post from April 1999. At that time, I was of the belief that George and Jacob Stucker had died in August 1782 at the Battle of Blue Licks. I now believe that they died in 1780 defending Burnt Station. Do you have any details which might assist me?
I appreciate the contact and will endeavor to answer immediately - in one form (forum?) or another!
