The Robert McDaniel (sp Luann McDonnell) was from Pennsylvania. Served in the Penn. Line. (Birth 7 Apr 1757 in Harrisburg, Dauphin,(Lancaster) Pennsylvania, USA)
'Robert McDaniel, was a Revolutionary soldier, served three years and six months, and was present when Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown, Va. ' [Source: 'History of the early settlers of Sangamon County, Illinois' By John Carroll Power, Sarah A. Harris Power, 1876] '
Information verifying his service, state of entrance, years of service, etc. can be found in the National Archives microfilms. Robert McDaniel served in "The Pennsylvania Line".
