Do you have any idea why Addie might have been in New Orleans in 1910 or 1911 when Laverne was born?

This is the only possible clue I have found:

1910 Orleans Parish, LA census, New Orleans (census taken April 30):

George A. Joubert, living as roomer in the Japanese Hotel in New Orleans, a traveling salesman. No age or place of birth given. Listed just above George is F. Joubert, Jr., also a traveling salesman.
