Col Henderson part of what was known as "The Transylvania Company"
"Old Dick Henderson", which I assume was a separate individual from Col Richard Henderson,
"was driven to a tree by wolves in early times, while enroute to fiddle for a dance, died at the city poor house 3 years since. A highly flavored sketch of Dick's escapade has amused the thousands of students of Goodrich's school reader."
