Tobe Gaddis born July 1870 KY is the son of John Gaddis 1829 Tenn.
mother Jane.Toby was last found in the 1900 in Union Township,Delaware,Indiana. his new wife of a few month died at the age of 18
year old in Muncie,Delaware Indiana. Name "Linnie G".
I found a newspaper from THE INDIANAPOLIS STAR date 6 May 1911
"whips farmere alleging avarice" Sends delayed Message. (A story of Mr.McFarley) and then a stoy of Tobe Gaddis.
The whipping of Mcfarley was the first to take place in the county since Tobe Gaddis,a laborer in the stone quarry district, killed a whitecapper five years ago.
Gaddis had just moved in from KY and when the nocturnal visitors came to his home at midnight he took his shotgun to the front door with him.When they stated the purpose of their visit he leveled the gun at the party and fired in the darkness. The next morning there was a dead whitecapper lying under an apple tree in the Gaddis lot with a mask still on his face.
I was surprise to fine and read this news from the Indianapolis news. I am not sure if they kill his young wife and what happen to Tobe. His mother
died the next year! and they called the men on horse back "WHITECAPPER'
had not heard of that before! Any help to see what happen to him. thank you Barbara Logsdon
