Looking for descendants or information on a runnaway slave from Nicholas County before 1850, Probably late 1840's. He escaped from KY. and started making a living in Brown County, Ohio as a blacksmith. His slave owner eventually caught up with him, but he was assisted by anti-slavery farmers and escaped. Farmer was taken to court by the slave owner John Preston Campbell of Ky. Bishop had relatives living in Ky. and continued to try and bring them out before the 1850 confrontation in Ohio. Any black family members have info???
