Dear Constance,

Thank you for your response. I have seen census and marriage records however have been unable to find the name of JB (James Burton) 's wife. This would be George Ann's Mother. I also can not trace the family before the 1840 Owen co census. James is listed as b. Tennessee and I have documents stating that he is Cherokee and born in Indidan Territory. These are statements made in Missouri after his death by some of his children trying to gain Indidan citizenship. Most of their claims were denied at the time.
