I think the 1900 census is wrong as far as Elijah's age. It also seems to be wrong as far as the number of years Elijah and Margaret were married. It says 23, but I believe the following family from 1880 Fentress co, TN is Margaret living with her parents. Their surname is given as Kernell in the census but it seems to be the same family as the Kerney's in 1900 Pickett co, TN.
