My 4th great grandfather John Arbuckle Jr. b. 1788 in Franklin, KY married about 1815 to Margaret (Peggy) Stucker, born 1798 at Franklin, KY. Her parents are John Stucker, born abt 1761 in Northampton, Penn., and Rebecca Castle b. abt 1771. I have information taken from the Kentucky in Retrospect, Kentucky History 1792-1967. In it I found the story about the Defenders of Bryon Station. The book listed the men that helped defend it and the woman. Those listed were Jacob Stucker,Eve Stucker, wife of Jacob.Philip Stucker,Polly Stucker, Margaret Stucker widow of George Stucker. Also Michael Stucker,Rosanna Stucker, Betty or Caty Stucker, Polly Stucker, John Stucker, married to Rebecca Castle. Henry Stucker, married Jane Cantwell. Jacob Stucker, born 1768, married to Sarah Gottshall, and James Stucker (killed at harmers Defeat in 1790) This book is very informative. The Memorial Wall at Bryan Station Spring, five mile Northeast of Lexinton, Fayette, Ky, was dedicated August 18, 1896, by the Lexington Chapter, Daughters of the american Revolution of Lexinton, Ky. This monument bears the distinction of eing the first monument in the world built by women to honor women. The inscription on the inside wall, directly opposit the opening reads: In Honor of the Women of Bryan Station On the right out-side wall the inscription reads:
