yvonne.

Hi. Thak you so very much, I appriciate all you are doing to help me get info about Nellie.
Some times I have seen that these census's are wrong in lots of ways, the people who took these census weren't the smartest people, lots of times they put down what they wanted because of one reason or the other like not beiog able to understand what a person was telling them especially when the person was of a different race or if the person wasn't around to give the info themself.
Some times people lied about age, race and so on. There was a lot of gypsy's or folk that just moved from place to place and this made it more the difficult to obtain proper census.
When it came right down to the census takers puting the persons correct race like native american they just put white no matter what the persons real race was way back then. As you look at census, have you noticed there aren't really any place for native americasn's or hispanic, only most the time white, black, or malato, this latter word bothers me a lot if you know what I mean. There was lots of prejudice against the native american people back then. I for one am against prejudice of any kind and still I too have people be prejudice against me moreso when I deal with the government, maybe they sense that I have Indian blood in me or something, I don't know, but that's life and it shouldn't be this way.
Anyhow I too am looking but it is not easy for an amiture like myself. Smiles. Sorry I get carried away sometimes, but I want people to know that prejudice still goes on lots even today against all races not just a select few like it used to be, to me this is worse than when our ancestors were alive.
Thank you again for all your wonderful help.
I pray that I can get the info I so desprately need.
With Sincere Gratitude.
Ed
