need info on ancestors of Ephriam Kelley, or may be Kelly. had a son James Ephriam Kelly born in 1822 in or around Greenup County KY.
There is an old story that he, or maybe James Ephriam got into a card game with a professional gambler, after realizing that the gambler was using counterfiet money Ephriam returned the money back during the game. Anyway, after the game the two were crossing the Little Sandy river when a fight broke out between them, Ephriam shot and killed the gambler. He fled later changing his last name to avoid the Law, by adding the second E to Kelley.
