The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, January 10, 1907 NAOMI STEWART was born in Clay County, Kentucky, February 6, 1824, and died at the home of her daughter, MRS. ELIZABETH ALLEN, at Woodburn, December 28, 1906, aged 82 years, 10 months and 22 days. When but a child her parents moved to Indiana and in 1846 she was married to MABERY SKIDMORE. They moved to Lucas County in 1863. Nine children were born of their union, of whom but one, MRS. T.J. ALLEN of Woodburn, is living. MR. SKIDMORE died in 1897, since which time she has made her home with her daughter. There are eight grandchildren living, four residing in kansas; one in Denver, Col., and three in this community. MRS. SKIDMORE, or Grandma, as she was lovingly called, was a member of the Christian Union Church, and her life has been a blessing to those with whom she came in contact. Sympathetic in disposition, she was ever anxious to aid and comfort those in sorrow or distress, and rejoice with those who were happy. In her last long and painful illness she was comforted by the knowledge that her life had been well spent and the promised reward in Heaven. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church on Monday last, Rev. W.B. Pond officiating, and was very largely attended. The remains were interred in Rose Hill Cemetery. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Copied by Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert November 22, 2004 iggy29@rnetinc.net http://www.rootsweb.com/~ialucas/Main.htm Notify Administrator about this message?
