Did you check the 1870 census of Pike Co KY? I found interesting data there which I believe is your Kinder family. I suspect your brick walls are the same ones I faced for over 20 yrs. The names used weren't always the birth names!! What I found was:
Jesse Kinder age 53, a farmer. Tabitha age 57. POLLY A. age 26, HENRY age 13, NANCY age 8, and a female unreadable name although it looked similar to Carie and she was age 3. Directly above this family (next door) was a WILLIAM R KINDER (possibly your "Harvey" Rastis Kinder? He was working as a farm hand. Indicates he was born in Virginia!! If this is yours then it gives you a new place to look. Good luck.
