I am looking for birth record of Melvin "Dock" Hix/Hicks Hale, probably born in Aug 1897 in Menifee Co. He was born out of wedlock to Mary E. Hale, daughter of Levi and Evaline Hale. (Dock's father 's surname believed to have been or sound like Branum / Branom /Branaham). As of 1900, Mary and Dock were living with her parents in Menifee. In 1910, he was living with his mother and husband Austin Nolan and children next door to Levi, but soon after he moved back in with his grandparents for a few years. Dock's children understood he was from Magoffin (Leatha?), so he could have been born in Magoffin, or just as likely moved there (with or without the Nolans) by 1920. Also, curious about a 4month old infant Hale (no given name) in 1910 Menifee census living with John and Docie (sp?) Rice, just a few doors from Levi/Evaline Hale and Nolan/Mary Austin. I'm wondering if/how this Hale baby could be related to Levi or Mary' Hale. Will be grateful for any info.
