My earliest known Ward ancestor was Edward Browning Ward, born in, I believe, Montgomery or Baltimore Co. MD. They came to Fleming Co., Ky about 1796 and to Shelby Co. about 1799. My ancestor Hezekiah Ward was born in Shelby Co., about 1801. He had several siblings: Reuben went to Posey/Gibson Co., Indiana area. Jesse went(1851) to Arkansas, then on the Oregon Trail to Oregon, then Washington Territory, settling in/near Seattle. John Soper, Bazzel, and Ezra W. were Cumberland Presbyterian ministers in Ohio and Grayson Cos. Hezekiak K. was a farmer in Ohio Co. Samuel went to Rock Island, Illinois. Elizabeth married Benjamni Franklin Midkiff and stayed in Ohio Co. Sarah died young. Priscilla died young. Martha married Nathan Bennett and remained in Ohio Co.. There was a Rebecca, James, and a Susan in early Ohio Co., but I don't know where they fit in the family. Edward Browning Ward's mother was a Priscilla Browning and either was a "bastard" child or...?? There is a record of a Edward Ward being fined for having a "base-born" child. I haven't quite figured this out yet.

I would love to know more. One of my distant cousins in Seattle had the DNA test done. I don't know the results. I will try to pass that information on to you. You may want to correspond with this other cousin in Seatlle who has researched for 30 years on the Wards.
Send me your email address and I will get you two connected.
