Can anyone help on this family? In 1900 census, ward 5, Paducah, is listed: John Crawford, head, b.1858, KY-KY-Ger, cooper,no wife listed, with kids, Ralph, b.1889, Lillian,1891,Millie,1892,Blanch,1894,all kids KY-KY-KY..Recently I've found information that John's parents may be James and Annie McGuire Crawford... James b.1828,Scotland, Annie possibly b.1830 Scotland. There is one story that James Crawford was a riverboat pilot during the Civil War and killed for refusing to surrender his ship to the enemy.
Etta Crawford,(who's maiden name may be Norvil, Norgell?) wife of John, may have d.c.1895,Paducah. John moved to St.Louis,Mo. c.1920's with his kids. Does anyone have a marriage for John and Etta, or an obit for Etta?
One other mystery...If John's mom, Annie was supposedly b. Scotland, why would his mom's birth on the 1900 be listed as Germany? Could there be a missing generation ?? Thanks for any and all help on this...Al
