Lebanon, KY before 1834

I have family reportedly born in Lebanon, KY before 1834 when Marion County was established. Lebanon was established in 1814 and became the county seat of Marion County by 1835. What county was it considered to be in before 1834? Was it Washington Co. at that time, since Marion Co. was established in the lower half of Washington Co. in 1834?
Thank you for any help provided with this.
Dorothy
