Martin Bigwood owned and operated a tavern in Eddyville. He also served as Justice of Peace. In the 1870 Trigg Co census he is listed as a miller. He married widow Fatie Sills Thorp. Terry Thorp 1838/1870 worked as a bookkeeper at the Tennessee Rolling Mill also. In the 1900 Caldwell Census Fatie Bigwood is living in the home of her daughter Fatie Thorp Withers.
