Thanks for the reply. Does the book mentionTennessee Rolling Works as a location in Lyon Co. as well as being a company? I have also found this name given as a birth location in an online family tree.

I have an 1864 letter from Tillie Dobbs to "Cousin Fannie" (Frances Miller Slade) in Nashville. The heading, which took me some time to figure out, is Tennessee Rolling Works, Oct. 23rd, 1864.
Matilda (Tillie) Dobbs is listed in the Asa Dobbs family in Eddyville in the 1860 census. Tillie Dobbs married James M. Miller in Sumner Co., TN, in Dec. 1865, a brother to Fannie Miller Slade. My interest in this is the Miller family. (My great-grandfather, Robert Miller, was another sibling.) Were they really "cousins"? If not, how did they know each other? Through the Slades? Just another genealogy mystery to try to solve!
