Anyone researching the John Scott line? He was born about 1810. He married Sarah Genette Walker, who was supposed to be part Indian.
Children--Pearl, Ruby, Lynn, Charlene, Belle, Thomas and Helen, who married Henry Downing.
Legend has it that John Scott got into a fight and knocked a guy out. Everyone thought the guy was dead. Upon hearing that, John Scott ran and was shot in the back by the sheriff. The guy John Scott knocked out was not dead.
Anyone ever heard this story??
