Looking for John Martin (b. March 25, 1826 - d. April 22, 1920) clan. Father Thomas Martin, mother Jennie McFarland born in Kentucky) John & wife had Crawford (b. approx. 1853), John M. (b. approx. 1855), Thomas (b. approx. 1857), William (b. approx. 1859 or 1860), Sarah (b. approx. 1862). This family found in Lyon county after Civil War. Lyon county formed 1854 from part of Caldwell county. Salina J. Hurt (born 1844 - died 1886, buried in Smith Cemetery, Lyon County) married John on Sept. 11, 1867, their children: Luther (b. Sept. 19, 1868, d. 1882), buried in Smith Cemetery, Lyon County), Oscar Turner Martin (b. April 14, 1870 - died Dec. 12, 1957), Sidney Morgan Martin(b. ?)reputed to be one-time Mayor of Eddyville, Kentucky, Jennie Martin(b.?) married an "Opie", Kate or Katherine Martin(b.?) married a "Nickell", and James H. (Hewlett ?) Martin (b.?).
