Henryville, named for Mr. S.J. Henry, was a stagecoach town of 1 or more stores and a Post Office, located aproximatly 1 mile South of current day Lewisburg, Ky. This small village was absorbed by the city of Lewisburg as it was laid out by a L&N railroad engineer named E.C. Lewis, for the first train to run in 1883. The new City Name of Lewisburg, Ky. was began in 1872 by the O&N Rail division. Edwards Station was built on Mr. George B. Edwards farm about 5 miles South of Lewisburg as a train station for the Owensboro & Nashville Branch of the L&N Rail. Today Henryville is now historically a city that moved and took up a new name due to the Rail Road and the economic convenience of that time.
