Hoping to find my Knight family in Livingston
Co., Ky.. Living there in 1900 were a few
Knight families, one was James C Knight,B
1863, Ky. He was married to Martha Kirby abt.
1883. Their known children are Lila D./Lily
B 1887,William B, 1890, James B abt. 1896 and
Letha B 1907 and there may have been other
children. On the 1900 census, it appears James
said his, Father was born in Georgia,
It is my belief that James was the son
of William D and Delilah Vaughan Knight
and Brother to my direct ancestor Joseph
Marion Knight B 1849/50, Kentucky.
William and Delilah Knight both died by 1875,
leaving several orphaned children.
A Lily Knight was married to a ? Paris and
was having children in Livingston Co., Ky.
from around 1910-20s. One child a son Evert,
daughters Anna and Dorothy. I would appreciate
it if anyone who knows of this family would
write me,, at IvyLee@webtv.net.
This Lily Knight is probably James and Martha
Kirby Knights daughter born in 1887, but she
could also be a cousin Lillie, by her Uncle
Joseph Marion and his 2nd wife Ellen who also
lived in Livingston Co. Joseph must have died
between 1890 and 1900, as he does not show
up on the 1900 census.
The name Lila/Lela(Lily) is a family name, from
Delilah Vaughan Knight.
