Someone posted that Jefferson BRUCE's wife was Elizabeth ROSS and I can't make contact with the poster. Do not know where the poster got the maiden name unless possibly a birth/death certificate in Livingston County, Kentucky. Need documention to prove maiden name of Elizabeth is ROSS.
Does anyone recognize this BRUCE family or know of marriages of their children???
One of the twin daughters, Mary Ann BRUCE, married George W. MANHART in Gallatin County, Illinois and then moved to Livingston County, Kentucky. It appears her father and siblings also may have moved from Gallatin County, Illinois to Livingston County, Kentucky per the 1880 census.
I believe this family is Jefferson & Elizabeth BRUCE in 1850 Sumner County, Tennessee census.

Littleton Henry Clay BRUCE was born on January 14, 1826 in Sumner County, Tennessee. His parents were Littleton BRUCE and Jane DUFF. He married Susan PROWELL on July 29, 1852 in Smith County, Tennessee.
Am trying to learn parents of Thomas Jefferson BRUCE that married Elizabeth ROSS to determine relationship with Littleton BRUCE who married Jane DUFF.
Was Thomas Jefferson BRUCE (&Elizabeth ROSS) a cousin of Littleton Henry Clay BRUCE???
