Padgett's of Lincoln County & DNA Test
Posted by: Michael Padgett (ID *****1308) Date: June 24, 2005 at 16:40:30

My line of Padgett is thru Ephraim Padgett born 1754-1774
probably Essex County,Virginia via Lousia County and then Lincoln County,Kentucky
His youngest son James Padgett born 1811 is my Line.

I am very interested to know if anyone in the Ephraim Padgett line (Males only) has had the DNA Testing.
I am interested in it, but have not purchased a Kit as yet.

It most likley would show a connection if Padgett males would take the Test.

However, I am more interested in showing a close connection
between Ephraim Padgett and the Abraham Padgett who was in
Henrico County,Virginia.
Lewis Padgett of Lincoln County,Kentucky was a son of this Abraham Padgett of Henrico County,Virginia. So there has to be a very close connection, perhaps Abraham * Ephraim were brother's or cousin's.
DNA testing might help in this matter along with the same
Testing, could show a very close connection with the Essex County,Virginia Padgett's and Edmund Padgett born abt 1638/
1639 in England.

Would appreciate any suggestions & thoughts anyone might have regarding this research and the DNA Test.

Contact me at pad7100@earthlink.net
Thanks, Mike Padgett
