I am attempting to locate death/burial information for Bailey A. Shumate and Anna Deborah Hilleary Shumate. They were residents of Lewis Co KY - last found in 1900.
Anna's parents are Washington and Emeline Jenkins Hilleary and she was born about 1840 in Prince George Maryland.
Bailey was born about 1826 in Virginia, but we haven't been able to nail down his parentage yet. He is often seen in the census records as Balan Shumate.
In 1880, I found a Joseph Perkins living in Bailey and Anna's home. In Lewis Co KY is also James and Sarah Perkins Shumate (believed to be a sister to Joseph Perkins, above). It is possible that James and Bailey are brothers. . . would like to concrete Bailey's connection to most of the Shumate family.
