I believe my GG Grandfather, Cas Hicks, was a half brother to Isaac J. Hicks.

Isaac J. Hicks death certificate state he was born 3-5-1887 died 8-16-1925, Harlan Co., Ky. Fractured Skull, Accidental Mine Slate, Father-Allen Hicks, Mother-Nancy Weaver, buried in East Bernstadt, Ky. Wife Della Hicks.
Death Cert. is in Vol. 039 Cert. # 19065

I have that Della Hicks maiden name was Hampton , daughter of George and Alice Barnett Hampton. Isaac and Della are buried in the Snuffer Cemetery in East Bernstadt, Ky. His stone birthdate is 3-26-1888. I know this doesn't tell you what mine he died in but maybe it will be of some help. I haven't found any other miners killed on this date in Harlan Co. White Star is a community off Hwy 119 on Ewing Creek Road, @8 miles west of the city of Harlan, Ky. Benham, Ky. is off Hwy 119 @25 miles east of the city of Harlan.
