I have learned thru many hours that jesse caswell hicks is not my gggrandfather. He is a brother to my great grandfather Allen Hicks jr. I have also learned that their parents were Allen Hicks sr.and Martha ?-------Allen Hicks sr died before,1833. He and Martha had (1.) Joseph b.1818 (2.) Solomon b.1821( 3.) Rebecca b.1823 (4.)Allen jr.(b.1825( 5.) William j. b.1827( (6.) Jesse Caswell (b.)1828. It was very disturbing to learn that after these children's father died their mother Did Not Raise her children; in stead she remarried not once but twice., There was happiness for these children, they were taught to work in the homes in which they were placed and also had an education before they left. The rest of my first message is correct.
