I am still searching for the family of Elizabeth Cook b. abt. 1830 in Kentucky. She married Thomas Chick abt. 1850 when they are found in Knox Co., KY.
Thomas And Elizabeth (Cook) Chick's daughter, Mary Jane, was born 12-23-1859 in Laurel Co. Mary Jane's birth record is the only document I have found which gives Elizabeth's maiden name.
There are two Cook men in Knox in 1830: Joseph and Wesley who are between 20/30.
Joseph has a female 20/30, 2 females under 5.
Wesley has a female 20/30, 2 females under five, female 60/70.
By 1840, Joseph and Wesley are in Clay Co. KY.
Wesley is 30/40 and has 1 female under 5, 1 female 5/10.
Joseph is 30/40 and has 1 male under 5, 1 male 10/15, 2 females under 5, 2 females 5/10, 2 females 10/15, and 1 female 30/40.
In 1850, Clay Co:
Thomas Cook-51-TN farmer
Ann-52-VA
Luisa-21-TN
John-11-KY
Mary J.-9-KY
Lucinda-7-KY
(Ann Root married Thomas Cook 12-21-1827 Manchester, Clay Co. Does anyone know if Thomas was first married to a Sarah?)

and her 6 children
I don't know what became of Wesley's wife and children but Wesley is living with Mary Peters and her children. He and Mary were accused of fornication and fined $16. They apparently married later.
William Cook is in Knox Co. in 1810 and is listed 2 pages after James Chick. Is he the father of Thomas, Joseph and Wesley? Were there other children?
Lucinda Cook, daughter of Thomas and Ann, married Almorine Dezarn 1852 in Clay Co., KY and died in 1872 in Daviess Co., MO.
From information I have gathered from various files found on the internet, I find that Joseph Cook married Eliza Yeager, daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Chick) Yeager. Sarah Chick was the daughter of James and sister to my Silas who married 1st Ann Cowan and 2nd Ann Lusk, a widow.
I have Joseph and Eliza's children as:
Frances Ann who married William Lemuel Hibbard 10-21-1847 Clay Co. They were living next to Wesley Cook in 1860 Laurel Co. Also in Laurel on the same page is Catherine Cely (Sealy) and her 3 children.
Sarah Ann who married Thomas B. Jones, son of William and Mary "Polly" Jones, on 5-17-1853 Laurel Co., KY
Mary A. who married Milton Jones, son of William and Mary "Polly", on 1-4-1853 Clay Co., KY
Catherine who married John Sealy on 1-4-1853 Clay Co., KY
William married Permelia Amelia Taylor 12-19-1859 Laurel Co., KY
Nancy Jane who married William "Doc" Smith 3-23-1861 Clay Co., KY
Does anyone have any further information on these Cook men and their families? I have been searching for any information which might help me to determine who the parents of Elizabeth were. I had thought, originally, that Joseph and Eliza were good candidates because of Eliza's connection to the Chicks; but, I haven't found her listed anywhere as their daughter.
I would sincerely appreciate any help anyone could offer.
