Samuel Dean and his ife Bettie, 1880 census

Looking for information about this couple, I know Samuel was still living in Barboursville in 1898 from Alabama probate records for the settlement of his father's estate in Tallapoosa County, AL.

I know there were other Deans living in Knox County and wonder if they were connected in some way to the Tallapoosa Co. Deans who moved from Upson Co, Georgia in the late 1840's. Samuel was a CSA veteran from Al and his parents were William F. Dean and Louisa Celey Fincher.
He moved to KY after the Civil War- there are no family recollections of why he went to Ky or who Bettie was.

Old family stories had once placed him as the father of Dizzy Dean, but this was disproved long ago. We also know now that Samuel's grandparents were not the Laurens, SC
Samuel and Gwenna Dean as is still outlined on many online sources about this family.

We have DNA testing from a descendant of Samuel's brother, George Layfayette Dean that connects this family with other Dean/Deen families living in Edgefield District, SC.in the 1800's and there are a crowd of us looking for our familial connections. Any clues are appreciated.

DOES THIS REING A BELL WITH ANYONE? Annie Waters
