I checked out the Harlan Census at the Pineville Library. Only two Woolums are listed. James Woolum who married Mary Polly Ward and Jacob Woolum who married Sarah Eunice Hughes. These two brothers are children of Andrew Woolum and Ursley Woodard. In the 1790 Census of South Carolina, Pendleton District is a Bartholomew Woolum who could possibly be Andrew's father. Before that there is a John Woolums in Louisa County, Virginia.

The Andrew Woolum b. 1816 is Andrew's grandson through his son James Woolum. Do you have the names of the 13 children?
