Thomas Embree death circa 1896-1900

I am trying to find out information about Thomas Embree, my Great Grandfather. He was a politician who was shot some time 1896-1900 in Jackson County, KY. He owned about 5000 acres in Jackson County and after my Great Grandmother died of pneumonia a couple of years after Thomas' murder, her sons William and Chester were raised by her brother James Rose who also gained ownership of the acreage.

Also trying to determine Thomas' wife's name. Her maiden name was Rose. Her mother was Martha Priest and father was John Rose. Her first name is either Martha, Lucinda, Lilly, Sarah, Josephine or Eugenia all daughters of Martha and John.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Also trying to determine any Indian heritage among the Roses.
