According to Buzzard family lore, Edward Williams immigrated from Whales to Lincoln Co.,NC, and settled on the Yadkin River where Morris was born. He served under Gen Francis Marion 'The Swamp Fox' during the rev war. Morris went west with 5 sisters and some brothers. Two brothers and two sisters separated from them at Cumberland Gap to go on to Tennessee and maybe on west. Morris settled hallway between Lexington and Marysville KY on 1500 acres gifted by the John Williams of the Transylvania Land Company, Henderson and Danial Boon where he had a stage stop with fresh horses. He also used the basement as a stop on the Underground Railroad for slaves heading for Ohio and freedom. One slave is buried in the family plot 'in the woods back of the house' the house. Another version indicates that he paid $1.25 per acre for the 1500 acres. Because of the conflict in lore, I didn't include some of it in the tree.
