Looking to find parents of my ggg grandparents:
William Stewart born in Harrison Co. Ky in early 1800's before 1810. Supposedly a Methodist minister. His second wife was my ggg grandmother Mary Jane Rankin. They married in Harrison Co. in 1834. She was also born in Harrison Co. about 1815. She had at least one sister, Laura Rankin born in 1825. Laura married Joseph Ruby, born in 1820 in Harrison Co. Laura and Joseph lived in Union Co., Indiana by 1850 and one of my ggg grandparents' dtrs., Mary Ellen, was living with them in the 1850 census age 4. Mary Jane had died by this time.
My ggg grandfather William Stewart had first married Mary Ann Richey in 1828 and they had a son James W. in 1829. Mary Ann died a few months late in New Richmond, Ohio.
Mary Jane Rankin and William's first son John Thomas, born in 1835, was my gg grandfather who came west in 1852 from Iowa at age 17. He says in family records his parents were dead by then. He had 7 siblings and I do not know what happened to any of them except Mary Ellen who was born in 1846 and later was Mary Ellen Stewart Shoudy married to John Alden Shoudy. She too came west about 1866.

I think Mary Jane Rankin is the daughter of one of Thomas Rankin's 8 sons but I have no proof and cannot find if any of them specifically had these two daughters. Also think my ggg grandfather William Stewart was the son of William Stewart born in 1765 who came to Harrison Co. Again have no proof. If anyone has information about these lines please let me know.
