Tom, I did not find your Gordons in either the 1810 or 1840 Census of Harrison County. Here is a URL where you might find some names that would give you more information.

There is a Gordon Bible listed with a Preston Gordon at the above site.

Here is another KY site where I found a William G. Gordon in
Trigg County - born in TN in 1839. Again, not the right person, but perhaps some other leads will develop.
