My gr-grandfather is Walter William Sharp. He married Martha (Helton), daughter of Ewell & Nancy (Noe) Helton. After marrying Martha (who was from Harlan Co.) they lived there and raised their family there in Harlan Co. His death certificate says that his parents were Russell Sharp and Sarah Patterson both of Campbell or Claiborne Co., TN.
I can't find them together on any census or marriage records. Family story was that he was illigitemate and was sent to live with an uncle. Does anyone have information on this. I've searched for his family since April of 2006 and need help.
