I am looking for other researchers who are working on my lines in Greenup:
A) Rezin Davis of the 1810 census and 1811 tax list
B) Mrs. Elizabeth Davis who is the widow on the 1820 census
C) Joseph Powell from 1790s to 1830 census
D) Micheal Creekpaum of the 1820 census.
So far I have probate records proving Mrs. Elizabeth Davis is my direct line. She had three Davis children Granville (born about 1810 Greenup per probate and censuses), Thomas (born about 1815 in Greenup per probate records), and Rachel (born 1818 in Greenup per probate and censuses). She was widowed in the Greenup census of 1820 and married Michael Creekpaum in 1822. The couple left around 1830 for Indiana and is buried in Rainsville, Warren County, Indiana. Joseph Powell was listed as Mrs. Elizabeth Davisí bondman in marriage and I suspect he is probably her father or a close relative.
I believe Rezin Davis was Elizabeth's first husband. He is the only Davis whose household matches what what I would expect to find. Further, Granville named his sons Rezin, Ludowich, and George. All names found in the established Davis line of Lamach Davis and Rezin Davis of Greenup. Further, Rachel, names her son Thomas. The Rezin Davis of Greenupís father appears to be Thomas of Montgomery KY. My only hesitation is that there are several people named Rezin Davis running around KY who all appear to be cousins about the same age. My instinct tells me that the available research on-line may have confused these Rezins.
Please contact me if you know anything about these lines and their relationships.
