Grayson Survey
Posted by: Patricia Myers (ID *****9787) Date: July 13, 2003 at 14:29:12

Is anyone familiar with the Grayson Survey of 1811? I have a copy obtained from the Greenup County Court House which has names on the various lots. Lot number 4, 187 acres, is shown with the name Bradford. I can not find how ownership was transferred to or from Bradford in the deed books. In May of 1836 the deed was transferred from Carter to Clark but I could not determine how or when Carter obtained ownership. Also, is there a record of early tax payer's in Greenup County (prior to a portion becoming Carter County)?
