I am the great-granddaughter of Tilden Welch and Abigail Guthrie. Their son John was my grandfather. I have a bit of unconfirmed information re: Tilden Welch. Tilden's parents may have been William Welch/Welsh and Rebecca Porter of Grayson Co. and Wythe Co.,Va.According to census records of 1820, 1830,and 1840, they had several children. The 1850 census of Wythe Co. lists Tilton Welsh -age 21. However, there are no Guthrie's listed in the 1850 census of Wythe Co. The 1880 census record of Greenup Co., Ky lists her birthplace as Virginia.
