from the History of Greenup Co. James Madison Williams and his wife Sarah Brower came from Adams Co. Ohio to Greenup Co about 1834. He was born in Penn. in 1778, the sone of James Williams Sr who served in the Revolutianary War both in Maryland and Penn, and came to Adams County before 1800. James Madison Williams served in the War of 1812 from Ohio............The inscription on a stone in the Caroline Furnace Cemetery reads: "James Williams, 1778-1873 Served in the War of 1812." "Wife of James Williams, died in 1862 age 78" Henry (1815) seems to th the only child that came to Greenup Co with the parents the others remained in Adams County. Henry maried Jane Anderson she was born in Lancaster C. Penn. Hope this helps.
